Swimsuits!!! Where I Get My Plus Size Swimsuits!

Today is all about swimsuits. You ladies keep asking me where I get my swimsuits from. I come from the school that information should be shared so we all can look fab. So here it is. The following list is where I've gotten this year's batch of swimsuits from.

Now in terms of swimsuit shopping, we're pretty far into the season. So some styles might not be available anymore. However the point of this post isn't for you to buy the exact same swimsuits as me, but just to mention some of the stores that support plus size swimwear. It's hilarious. Come February/March of every year, I start to stalk all the websites that I know carry plus size swimsuits like a mad woman. Yes, I said February! That's usually when the current years new collections drop. I gotta be on top of my game because some of the suits will sell out immediately, while others are just pre order. It's such a shame though, as a Canadian plus size woman, there really isn't that many stores that you can go in to try on and buy swimwear. So the majority of my suits are bought online from American retailers. Then we have to factor in the exchange rate of our dollar, shipping costs and the cost at customs. Sometimes, by the time you factor in all those costs, the swimsuit that was advertised for less than $100 is now $150!

So these are my go to places for reasonably priced swimsuits:

Cocobecky

If you get a chance, please check her out on instagram @cocobecky. I was stalking her page for the longest time. She's her own model.  The only swimsuits and clothes that she wears are all designed and tailored by her.

I finally messaged her and asked if she does custom made plus size swimsuits and she said yes! Pretty much how it works, is you show her which one of her designs you like, and she tells you how much material that you need to buy. After you've purchased the material, you get an appointment (I'm guessing she does it this way so she knows you're serious.) Her studio is located in the east end of Toronto. When I tell you, within 1.5 hours, I arrived at her studio and was back out the door with a customized swimsuit. 1.5 hours!!!

You wait there while she sews it. You try it on multiple times so she can make adjustments, and voila!! You've got a customized for your body swimsuit!

Cocobecky did the green swimsuit underneath as well,  but I wanted to give Big Sister's Closet a shout out on the cover up. I bought this last season. I'm not positive if they're carrying swimsuits this season, but still check this store out. They have a ton of cute stuff, and the store is all plus size clothing.

Addition Elle

Addition Elle has really been stepping their game up in terms of swimwear. They are a Canadian plus size store. To be honest, I've never really looked to Addition Elle for swimsuits as I found them to be a little too conservative. However they've stepped it up. I am in love with this Nola colour block swimsuit. You have 2 options in terms of the bottom. You can get the all black bottom like I did. Or you can get the bottom with the same colour block pattern on it as the top. They frequently have 40-50% off sales as well. So always look out for deals.

Swimsuits For All

Now swimsuits for all is my bae. I don't think I've ever gone on their site and not found something beautiful that I want. They are not solely plus size, however they do carry some really popular brands like Gabi Fresh and Ashley Graham Collections, which are two very popular plus size models who've developed their own line for Swimsuits for all.

Gabi Fresh for Swimsuits For All

I looooove me some Gabi Fresh. Her line is young, playful and very sexy. She not only designs swimsuits, but she offers cover ups as well.

She gets that plus size women like to feel sexy. But she also offers cute swimsuits that are a little more conservative for those you aren't necessarily ready to go the 2 piece bikini way as yet. Trust me, her one pieces are equally as cute!

This style is from last years collection. I doubt that you can get it now, but I just wanted to show the cuteness of her one pieces!

With Swimsuits for all, once you've signed up for their email list they immediately start sending you discounts. Sometimes up to 60-70% off. They can be a little email happy and send you a few emails a day which can be a bit much if you're not a swimsuit hoarder like me. You can click 'manage your preferences' and customize how many emails you receive.

Forever 21 Plus

I'm not sure if all Forever 21's cater to plus sizes. If you have a store in your neighbourhood that does, great!  You can go in and try on some swimsuits yourself. If not, you have the option to go online. What's good about Forever 21, is that they sell their tops and bottoms separately so you can mix and match if you want. Also, prices for their swimsuits usually range from about $22-40. Very reasonable.  When I order online, I usually get my shipment within 5 days.

I chose just to buy the top of this one, and wear it with a skirt. Again, you can mix and match to change it up.

Why won't this guy in the back, let my picture be great???? Why?

This cover up can be worn as a dress as well. I got it at Forever 21.

Pheeeew that was a long one. But I hope you guys are inspired to get out there and show off your sexy. I don't care what shape you have, be proud of yourself and flaunt what your mama gave you!

I know there are quite a few other places that carry plus size swimwear, or designers that make plus size bathing suits. I'm just stating again for the record, I love swimsuits, so come and work with me!

Hope this helped ladies!!!

Things I Should Know;

-I don't know how other bloggers make their pictures so perfect. I brought my tripod with me to Miami to have a photoshoot with my damn self, and I swear my eyes were closed for every picture! Ha! Is there a trick that I'm missing out on???? I was a sweaty mess by the time I took the picture because the camera only had a 10 second timer...so running back and forth to take my position was exhausting. Just wanted to shout out the other bloggers who make it look so easy! You guys are awesome!
